Hot weather is once again predicted, although not to the same level as the extreme heat experienced during the week commencing 22 June. During that week, a red weather warning was in place and levels of heat and humidity were particularly high. At this stage, while temperatures next week are expected to reach the high 20s and may reach around 30°C, we are not anticipating any changes to the school day or to the opening hours of the school. Full attendance is therefore expected.
However, given the forecast temperatures, and for ease and consistency, we will again give students the option to wear their PE kit instead of their normal school uniform from Monday 6 July 2026 and for the remainder of the week.
For clarity, this means students may attend school in either:
- their full and correct PE kit; or
- their full school uniform.
This is not a non-uniform week. Students must not wear a mixture of PE kit and school uniform, and they must not wear PE kit with their own clothes.
If students choose to wear PE kit, it must be the correct school PE kit. This includes appropriate school PE shorts and other correct PE kit items. Students should not wear alternative items such as leggings, non-school shorts, or other items of their own clothing.
If your child is unable to wear their full and correct PE kit, they should attend school in their normal school uniform. Students who attend in school uniform will be allowed to make the usual hot weather adjustments, such as removing blazers and ties, rolling up sleeves and undoing top buttons where appropriate.
All other expectations regarding appearance and presentation remain in place, including expectations around hair, jewellery, make-up, nails and general appearance.
Please ensure that your child brings a water bottle to school each day. We also advise that appropriate sun cream and sun protection are used where needed.
We will continue to keep the weather under close review and will make any further adjustments if required.
As a reminder, Friday is scheduled to be an early finish as it is the last day of the school year. Please refer to our previous correspondence regarding the timings for the end of the school day.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
