Five of our Year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to attend the 2026 National Careers Challenge (TNCC) Finals on Thursday teh 2nd of July, representing the school with enthusiasm, resilience and exemplary behaviour.

Although the Air Sports Team did not progress to the final stage of the competition, they should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Competing against much older students from schools across the country was a significant challenge, yet they embraced every opportunity with determination and a positive attitude. Their resilience throughout the day was outstanding, and they represented our school impeccably.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, making the most of the interactive activities, collecting plenty of freebies and gaining valuable insight into a wide range of future careers. One of the highlights of the day was meeting entrepreneur Simon Squibb, who generously took the time to speak with everyone waiting in the long queue, inspiring students with his encouragement and advice.

Another memorable moment was meeting Jeff Baker (pictured in our main photograph), who was one of the competition judges. Students were delighted to see Jeff again after he had visited our Year 7 cohort on Monday 29th June to deliver an engaging talk about careers and opportunities in the manufacturing industry. It was wonderful for the students to reconnect with him in such an exciting national setting.

A huge thank you goes to the staff who supported and accompanied the students throughout the event. Their encouragement, organisation and commitment helped make this an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 team for the way they conducted themselves and for embracing every aspect of this fantastic opportunity. They returned inspired, motivated and with a greater understanding of the exciting career pathways available to them.
